I understand the concept of leading with the 1st finger when ascending and leadng with the 4th finger when descending but should we stay strictly with the fingering as presented OR are we to “absorb” that concept of leading with the 1st ascending, leading with the 4th when descending so that it become so ingrained we’ll automatically do that. I ask because it is taking me so long to memorize each scale fingering that I feel I’m making little progress. Thanks
